The Islamic Antichrist
15 February 2010
The Islamic Antichrist by Joel Richardson. (It was previously published with a different cover as "Antichrist: Islam's Awaited Messiah".) This book is the topic my article today. I feel that this book is so important that I bought each of my teenage children their own copy, telling them that it may be the most important book they will ever read (apart from the Bible, of course). I've never done that with any other book, and believe me, I've read a LOT of good and important books over the years!
In The Islamic Antichrist, the author goes into great detail comparing what the Bible teaches about the end times to what Islam teaches about the end times. And more importantly, what the Bible teaches about the coming Antichrist compared to what Islam teaches about their coming "Messiah", called the Mahdi. The similarities are astonishing and frightening!
And if you are like me, you probably didn't know that Islam teaches that "Jesus", a Muslim Jesus, will return to the earth in the last days and work along side the Islamic "Messiah", the Mahdi, to bring the whole world under the control of Islam. This book will inform you about a lot of other Islamic teachings that you've probably never heard of.
Of course, you have to read the book to get all the details. I STRONGLY encourage you to get a copy and study it closely. You can click on the book cover graphic to the left to go straight to Amazon.com to purchase it. In the table below, I have quoted the entire chapter 18 to give you a taste of what is covered in the book in great detail. Below that, I have also shared some paragraphs from chapter 19.
As the author readily admits (as quoted below from chapter 19), Christians throughout the centuries have thought that they had figured out who the Antichrist and his system were, only to be proved wrong. So obviously, what is presented in this book (and on this Web site) may be just as wrong. But he lays out a good case, which is very convincing. And the humility, clarity, and lack of hype with which he shares his findings are equally compelling. As for me personally, I'm convinced. That's one of the reasons I've created this Your Islamic Future Web site. This information is too vital to be kept to myself.
Let the information in the table below whet your appetite, and then get the book and read it for the full meal.
And now, before we bring this to a close, let me share a bit more from this book, this time from chapter nineteen:
Throughout Christian history, many Christians have seen the Antichrist and his system in whoever happened to be their archenemy or bogeyman of the day. Speculations have included the Pope, Hitler, Mikhail Gorbachev, Saddam Hussein, Prince Charles and president Obama. Nazi Germany, Communism, the European Union have been put forth as candidates for the Antichrist system. There has been a repeated gullibility and hastiness on the part of Christians who have only too often been all too quick to jump to conclusions regarding the identification of the Antichrist or his system.
So perhaps the challenge might arise which asks, "Aren't you doing the same thing in this book? Aren't you just taking today's bogeyman (Islam) and making it into the Antichrist system?" I don't believe so. Here's why: I didn't go looking for a way to identify Islam as an antichrist system, but rather I went looking to befriend Muslims and understand Islam. And I still love Muslims. But through my journey of understanding and becoming intimately acquainted with Islam, the material covered in this book pretty much forced itself on me. It is not through any negative feelings or biased agenda that I have come to the conclusions that I have in this book, but rather the information speaks for itself. Also, the simple fact of the matter is that someday the Antichrist system will emerge. When it does, will we simply look the other way for fear of being the next gullible Christian to falsely identify the Antichrist? When the real thing arrives, will the Church allow the fear of looking dumb to cloud her discernment?
At this point, my response to those who would challenge the idea that Islam is the primary driving force behind the Antichrist system would be to issue a challenge to show biblically why it is not. What aspect of the Antichrist spirit and system as described in the Bible DOES NOT line up with the spirit and doctrines of Islam? What weaknesses are there in the argument that has been presented in this book? And if not Islam, then what other system fulfills the long list of biblical requirements necessary to fulfill such a role?
Ultimately, the purpose of this book was not so much to prove a point, but merely to present the information to the Church. I believe that in doing so, I have fulfilled my responsibility before God to warn the Church regarding this undeniably startling information. This book is ultimately about turning the reader to the Scriptures and prayer in order to study and meditate to see if these things are so.
