Read The Books

The spokesmen for Islam in the United States publicly make the following claims about their religion:
Unfortunately, every one of these statements is NOT true. Rather, they are all lies, used to promote Islam in America and hide the true agenda of Muslims in this country. It's another little-known fact about Islam that it sanctions such lying — deception is an accepted, integral part of Islam (a subject we will explore further in a future article).
The only way you are going to know that these statements are false is to be like Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, who read the Qur'an, not to become a Muslim, but to understand how the enemy thinks and works. (See my previous article What Every American Needs To Know for more details.)
Another Gospel, Another God) we established that Yahweh, the God of Israel and the Bible, and Allah, the god of Islam and the Qur'an, are definitely not the same God, and that the Qur'an did not come from God, but was demonically inspired. That seems quite evident as I read through the Qur'an. I can just imagine Muhammad, huddling in a cave with a powerful deceiving spirit, "masquerading as an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), memorizing and/or writing down the dictations of this imitation "angel Gabriel". The suffering that has been inflicted upon the world for the last 1,400 years as a result is staggering.
You definitely don't want to be like the leaders of this country who, working in the FBI, the military, Homeland Security, and other branches of the government, are trying to protect us from an enemy they won't even take the time to learn about (see my previous article Infiltration). You definitely don't want to be like the Media in this country, who blindly publish the statement from the Islamic spokesmen without ever bothering to see if what they are saying is true or not.
No, you need to be informed. You need to know the truth. And you will find the truth about what Islam is really all about by reading their "holy" book, the Qur'an. I would recommend that you pick up a copy of The Meaning Of The Holy Quran by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. I read somewhere that this is the English translation that is recommended by the Islamic authorities in America.
This book is a translation of the Qur'an into English, along with the original text written in Arabic. There are also extensive notes and commentary by the translator, to help explain and bring meaning to many of the verses. There is also an extensive 40 page index (in fine print!) to help you find passages on practically every subject the Qur'an covers. For example, the index will help you find the 24 verses that say that Yeshua (Jesus, Isa in Arabic) is NOT the Son of God (yes, definitely Another Gospel, Another God).
Because of your Islamic future, the time, energy and money you invest in reading the Qur'an and understanding what it teaches will be very well spent. But if you don't want to spend any money on a Qur'an, and you don't mind reading online, you can always read this same translations of the Qur'an at QuranExplorer.com. Under the Translation drop-down list, choose Eng-Yusuf Ali. One of the advantages of the printed version over the online version is that you have access to the more than 6,300 notes and commentary, as well as introductions to each Surah, which were written by the translator. These "extras" are vital for understanding what they often obscure text is saying.
I've been reading the Bible, or listening to it, sometimes very regularly, sometimes not so regularly, for about 34 years now, ever since I received a Living Bible as a gift from my parents at my confirmation in the Lutheran church.
Because I have such a good memory, I sometimes find that reading the Bible can be boring after all these years, because I'm so familiar with the text. That's one reason I really like other versions of the Bible. For example, to learn more about the Jewish roots, and the Jewishness, of the Christian faith, I really enjoy reading the Complete Jewish Bible : An English Version of the Tanakh (Old Testament) and B'Rit Hadashah (New Testament). I also really like the New Living Translation Bible.
Whether you are a long-time Christian, a new Believer, or a non-believer, I highly recommend The Message//REMIX Pause: A Daily Reading Bible by Eugene Peterson as an excellent way to get your daily dose of the Scriptures. This is a Bible that I've given to both of my teenage children, so they can systematically make it through the entire Bible in one year.
If you have never read The Message translation before, you are in for a real treat. Let me give you a little example. Just a few days ago, I was reading through Matthew 6 in The Message, when some verses really spoke to me.
OK, OK, maybe you think my eyes are getting really old, since I ordered the large print version. But let me tell you, the text of the "large print" just seems normal size to me — I would hate to see the "regular" size text!
Well, no matter what size print you have, this is a great Bible. Side by side, you have the more literal, traditional translation of the New International Version (NIV), as well as The Message, which, as we have already seen, brings a breath of fresh air when reading the Scriptures.
If you don't want to spend any money on different versions of the Bible, and you don't mind reading online, you can always read the Bible in 20 different English versions (including The Message, the New Living and the NIV — sorry, no Jewish English Bible), plus 60 other non-English versions (including Arabic!), at BibleGateway.com.
In the end, no matter what version you prefer, the important thing is that you are getting into the Word on a regular basis, and even more importantly, that the Word is getting into you!
But most important of all is coming to Yeshua (Jesus) Himself, having a relationship with Him, and receiving His life in your heart. This is the only thing that will sustain you in your Islamic future. As Yeshua Himself said to the religious leaders of His day:
You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you'll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about Me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren't willing to receive from Me the life you say you want. (John 5:39-40, The Message)And Yeshua warned us Himself that in the Last Days...
...false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones. See, I have warned you about this ahead of time. (Matthew 24:24-25)And the Apostle Paul wrote about the Last Days that there would be a great falling away from the Christian faith, and that God will send upon them a powerful delusion so that they will be deceived by the false messiahs and believe their lies (see 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12)
The only way we are going to be able to save ourselves from such deception is to really know Yeshua Himself, and His word, the Bible, as much as we possibly can. So get to it!
