Questions About the Israeli-Arab Conflict

Recently I received an e-mail from an avid reader of these articles on Your Islamic Future:
I've found your blog absolutely fascinating, and have spent a lot of time on your blog. I appreciate the time you've put into this. I was wondering if I might be able to ask you a few questions?
  1. In regards to the current state of Israel and Hamas, I have noticed a significant number of the population erroneously believing that Israel is the aggressor, and that Israel is killing innocent civilians. This is absurd and completely contrary to what is actually happening. People are "siding" with Hamas in ways we've never really seen before. What do you make of this?
  2. In general, do you believe inherently that Islam is a historically "evil" or violent religion, or do you believe that Islam is another religion that aspires for peace? What makes you feel this way?
  3. What sort of spiritual warfare might be happening in the Middle East?
My goal here is to get some sort of understanding of the current state of affairs.
Very good questions! Here is my short, concise answer: Satan!

To be more verbose, even this one single verse is a good description of current world affairs: "Satan, who is the god of this age, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Messiah, who is the exact likeness of God" (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Now, for my longer, more detailed answer! Don't you find it shocking that the one true God, Yahweh, the God of Israel, the God of the Bible, the Father of Yeshua (Jesus), would, through the apostle Paul, call Satan "the god of this age"? That's pretty strong language! Yet, even though we might find that hard to believe, apparently it's an accurate description of the present condition of this world.

Behind the scenes of world events and human actions, there is a LOT of string-pulling by Satan going on. This satanic influence can be so subtle, deceptive and insidious that even people who claim to be following and serving Yahweh can, in reality, be puppets on Satan's strings. Yeshua Himself made this clear when speaking to the Jewish religious leaders of His day:
"You belong to your father, the Devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8:44)
All you have to do is look at the horrendously-violent history of Islam to see which father they belong to! The "father of lies" has taught them well, seeing that Islam is the only major religion which encourages and justifies lying and deception. Consider all of the vile, inhuman deeds which the Islamic StateHamas' ideological soulmates — have perpetrated recently in Iraq and Syria. It is so obvious that the closer someone follows the Qur'an, the more the inherent evil of Islam is displayed!

But it works the other way as well! When "Christians" perform the same dastardly deeds as the Muslims by trying to promote their agenda through violence and lying, then it is just as obvious that they too are following the father of their brothers in crime, no matter how much they insist that they are "children of Abraham" (see John 8:39-44) or "followers of Yeshua" (see Matthew 7:16-23).

Why is so much of the world, even many "Christians," justifying the actions of Hamas, and condemning the actions of Israel? The first Scripture verse I quoted above gives the answer. Satan is the god of this age, and the people of this world, even many "Christians," are under his dominion, because they refuse to truly submit to Yeshua. Satan has blinded their eyes so that they are unable to see or understand the truth. The "father of lies" has filled their mind with lies which they cannot escape. Until they are set free from his dominion and come under the rulership of King Yeshua, they are unable to perceive and receive the truth.

Regarding the inherent evil of Islam, once you get below the veneer of Islam being a religion of "peace and devotion to Allah," it is very clear that this is an ideology that is anti-Christ in its very essence — even more so than Nazism or Communism. As the apostle John explained:
Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Yeshua is the Messiah. Such a person is anti-Christ — denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (1 John 2:22-23)

Many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Yeshua the Messiah came in a real human body. Such a person is a deceiver and an anti-Christ. (2 John 1:7-8)
As I documented in Another Gospel, Another God, the Qur'an explicitly denies the divinity of Yeshua (Isa in Arabic) no less than 24 times! And as Joel Richardson wrote in the preface to his book Mideast Beast:
Islam is anti-Christ to its very core. Islam's basic doctrines represent a direct frontal attack against Christianity, declaring many of those doctrines that the Bible sets forth as holy, foundational, and essential to be the greatest abominations and blasphemies imaginable. Whereas the Christian faith is founded upon the belief that God Himself became a man in Jesus the Messiah, Islam declares in its Qur'an that anyone who believes in the Incarnation commits the worst form of blasphemy imaginable, is cursed by Allah, and will suffer "a grievous penalty" in this life and in the next. Beyond this, Islam's end-times narrative, in so many ways, is simply the biblical end-time story flipped on its head. It's difficult for any Bible believer to read of these things without becoming acutely aware of the satanic origins of the Islamic religion.
In order to fully understand the demonic, evil, anti-Christ foundations of Islam, and how that could very well play out in the coming End Times, I strongly urge you to buy and study both of Joel Richardson's books: The Islamic Antichrist and its sequel, Mideast Beast. A solid grasp of the concepts and issues discussed in these two books is vital for being a victorious overcomer during the coming Tribulation, as well as for preparing for martyrdom.

Regarding the spiritual warfare taking place in the land of Israel — because I don't live there, I can only imagine that it is VERY intense. For an on-the-scenes perspective, let's hear from a Jewish follower of Yeshua who actually lives there....

In past articles on my Brian's Bits Web site I have quoted from the newsletter of a ministry that I really respect (and support financially on a monthly basis) — Emmaus Way in Israel, led by Arni and Yonit Klein. It has happened a number of times that I have been writing an article about a certain topic, and then I receive their latest newsletter which addresses the very same topic. Well, it has happened again! Referring to the current Gaza crisis, Arni writes (the links were not in the original, but were added by me):
Trying to convince someone of the obvious is insane. The abject sickness of the UN, the US, and so many others is being laid bare for anyone who would see. Anyone that does not see the obvious simply doesn't want to. Yasser Arafat receiving the Nobel Peace Prize was difficult to comprehend. We have now descended to a totally other level. The UN has spoken about bringing Israel up on charges of war crimes because we did not provide our enemy with the ability to defend themselves against us. The UN believes Israel should have given Hamas the technology for the Iron Dome. They will have to go far to top this ... and we expect they will.

As long as Hamas exists, it will always rise to fight against the existence of Israel. All these ceasefires may prove to not be such a good thing for us. We had a momentum going. Even with the loss of lives, there was a resolve among the [Israeli] troops to get the job done once and for all. Everyone knew if we were to stop now, it would be at most two to three years and we'd be at it again. Hamas live to make war. They grew much in the years since our last conflict. They will no doubt continue to train and work and invest all they have towards the destruction of Israel. God warned our fathers this would happen if they did not fully cast out the Canaanites. The enemy would be a perpetual thorn in our side.

Though we may not think of Hamas as an existential threat, they surely see themselves as one. They have the heart and nature of the devil himself. Will the prince of darkness ever surrender? Will he ever negotiate or accept defeat? Hamas did much preparation in the hope of bringing a devastating blow against Israel (speaking of the planned attack on the Feast of Trumpets). It took the sacrifice of three beautiful young lives to "by chance" uncover the plot. Though our enemies may sound like puffed-up children boasting beyond reason, they are no two-bit militia running about barefoot dressed in sheets. They have thought through their battle strategy and know well our "weaknesses" (for example, that we honor life).

What is God doing? It's not so easy to see behind the veil and know all the purposes and ways of the Lord...
  • What if this battle on the ground is really about something spiritual?
  • What if, by design, it can be won only through a spiritual approach? (It would not be the first time).
  • What if this is not just about natural Israel but also about the Body of Messiah ... the Church?
  • What if the release of the Spirit is waiting for a company to rise up in the spirit of the Lighthorse Brigade?
  • What if the Church is in a corresponding position to where natural Israel was in 1917 ... at the moment of birth?
  • What if the key to opening the well of revival is preparing the way of the Lord ... in Israel?
  • What if God really means what He says? "For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?" (Romans 11:15)
  • What if this is all true ... what will you do?
There is a company of brethren who do not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. May the Spirit help us all grasp the lateness [of the hour]. We long for you, our beloved brethren, to be beside us in this great [spiritual] battle. The enemies' willingness and commitment to lay down their lives — albeit for a demented, sick and twisted goal — cannot be ignored. It is much to our shame that so many who know the real and living God come short of the fire and passion of our enemies. The church in China, and elsewhere that faith in Yeshua is punishable by death, know what it means to be on the front line. Oh that our thirst for the Glory of God would be like that of the soldiers that went for the water in Beer-Sheva in 1917. What a day that will be! May we truly live all our days on earth...
Before we go any further, let me shed a little bit of light on Arni's references to events in Jewish history during the previous century. Regarding the Lighthorse Brigade, the land of Israel in 1917, and the soldiers that went for water in Beer-Sheva in 1917, this paragraph from the Wikipedia article on Beersheba will help bring us up to speed:
Beersheba played an important role in the Sinai and Palestine Campaign in World War I. On October 31, 1917, three months after taking Rafah, General Allenby's troops breached the line of Turkish defense between Gaza and Beersheba. Eight-hundred soldiers of the Australian 4th and 12th Regiments of the 4th Light Horse Brigade under Brigadier General William Grant, with only horses and bayonets, charged the Turkish trenches, overran them and captured the wells of Beersheba in what has become known as the "last successful cavalry charge in British military history."
Wow! That sounds similar to the exploits of king David's mighty warriors! You can follow the links to research the events surrounding the 1917 Battle of Beersheba in more depth if you so desire. With that out of the way, let's turn our attention to the spiritual aspects of what Arni has written.

In his newsletter, Arni laments the fact that followers of the demonic impostor-god Allah are more ready and eager to be martyrs than the followers of Yeshua. Lately I have been lamenting this same tragic reality — where are the willing martyrs? So few of us who call ourselves Christians are ready to love not our lives unto death.

In stark contrast to the early followers of Yeshua, Christianity has, over the centuries, almost completely lost its vision for, and desire for, martyrdom. There is a desperate need in this late hour for believers to assimilate and live out a modern theology of martyrdom.

From my personal experience, I believe that the best way you can prepare for your Islamic future is to buy and carefully study the book Suffering, Martyrdom, and Rewards in Heaven by Josef (Iosif) Ton.

The teaching in this scholarly work is vital to you being prepared to face the stark choices coming your way. Will you remain faithful to Yeshua, even to the point of martyrdom? Or will you deny Him by submitting to Allah, in a vain attempt to save your earthly life?

The destiny of your eternal soul hangs in the balance! Will your follow Yeshua to Heaven, or Allah to Hell? The Biblical teaching in this book will equip and strengthen you to make the right choice and then stick to it come hell or high water. Priced at only $15, you can't afford NOT to buy this life-changing book!

The tragic, violent events which are taking place in Israel, Iraq and Syria are merely the front-lines of a worldwide battle which is already unfolding in Europe and which will sooner or later be raging full-force in the United States and the rest of the Western Hemisphere. Your Islamic future is steadily and surely approaching! Are you ready? If not, you had better get prepared ASAP!
